This is Papa Bear — the 6-quart, the big pot. Six quarts is gumbo size, company size: the one that comes out when the family taste test is on, or the recipe starts with “feeds a crowd.”
The 6-quart stoneware crock holds a 6-pound chicken or a 4-pound roast and serves seven or more. Three cooking settings on a plain manual dial, and the crock and glass lid are dishwasher-safe. When supper has to feed everybody, this is the pot Tina reaches for.
